THIS IS US....
I’m a person who has been passionate about recovery since I first entered it at the age of 18.
There have been a lot of twists, turns, bumps, and a multitude of pathways along my journey; ultimately culminating in the incredibly blessed life, I live today. I’m a living testimony of God using all things for the good, even the parts of my past that seemed beyond redemption.
Some of my greatest joy comes from giving back to others out of the wellspring of gifts that recovery has bestowed upon me. Besides all things recovery, I love spending time with my family, CrossFit, playing with our two Corgis, hiking, camping, biking, cooking, reading my Bible, praying, and having deep, meaningful conversations with just about anyone. My life today is more than I imagined was possible, and it just keeps getting better.

Hi!, You can call me Jo! I'm a wife, a mom, and a grandma. Like most, our family has substance abuse issues.
I greet visitors, answer phones, do miscellaneous office duties, and planted and tended our Hope Garden. It's a symbol of our participants, with their different personalities and needs. Our prayers and hope care for them.
On the first day here, I decided I wanted to become a PRS so I could better understand and help those we come in contact with. It has been a fantastic learning and growing experience and I love it here. I feel it was God-directed, and I'm so grateful for each day and the variety, joy, and challenges it brings.

I am Adam Smith. I’m a man of God and a soldier of Christ. My recovery journey started in 2018 when God led me to Hastings.
Recovery has been a battle for me, and after 23 years, God has finally given me an upper hand in the battle. It took His gentle nudge, or a boot to the rear, to get me on the right track. Now I have been sober since January 4, 2022, and life keeps on making more sense.
God has blessed me with a beautiful wife, Savannah Smith, and the opportunity to walk alongside people at Rise Up Recovery. I’m passionate about Jesus, family, study, writing, service, food, and going to the gym.

My name is Savannah Smith, and I am happily married to Adam Smith. I grew up in a loving family that has a history of substance and alcohol abuse disorder. I personally followed that path for a few years, as well as engaged in disordered eating habits.
Now I have been free from drugs, alcohol and disordered eating for over two years. God has given me a great passion for rising above pain and trauma into a beautiful, healthy lifestyle.
I love art in any way of emotional expression using all modes or mediums. I enjoy all parts of God's creation, nature, animals, and people in all ways and forms. I look forward to seeing people learn and grow together!

My name is Nicole Olson. I am a mother of two children. My daughter, born in 2000, gave me two handsome grandsons. My son is the reason I am alive and sober! I was in my final stage of my 16-year using period while I was pregnant with him, and he was placed into foster care at birth, May 9th, 2015. To make a long story short, after a year of attempting to stay sober I was given a choice, which would change my life drastically either way. So, CPS was the reason I went to treatment, but the love I have for my son and the power of God’s grace is the reason I have been away from that sex trafficking lifestyle since October 3rd of 2016, and even though I had a hiccup on alcohol, I have been free from that as well since August 3, 2019.
I have been working in the Recovery field since 2021 and feel like God has placed me in this position of being a CPRS for me to give back to my community what I have learned along my recovery journey. I want to help as many people as I can, throughout the communities that surround the Twin Cities and further find the recovery journey that fits best for them however it looks.

Hi, my name is Robin Steger. I was born and raised by Jewish parents, and my father was 1st generation Holocaust Survivor.
Growing up in Los Angeles, California, in the ’70s led to a daily lifestyle of substance use for the next 34 years.
Reconnecting with my husband John in 2009 after 30 years! Brought Jesus and sobriety on January 12, 2010.
After many years of functioning in a fog, I am now clear-minded and committed to helping others find freedom in Christ and Sobriety.
Blessed and grateful

My name is Jordan Wheeler and I am a strong woman in Recovery. I have faced traumas and hardships and prevailed, finding a better way of living drug free since 1-28-2022. It goes far beyond abstinence. It’s a bountiful and life long process of growth, self change, and reclaiming yourself.
Recovery has helped me reach my full potential and always do my best. It gave me life and has allowed me to help others find that path too. I love to laugh, be around family, and enjoy the here and now. I’ve found joy in setting goals and reaching them. I take life every day as a blessing and use my gratitude to help others see it that way as well.

My name is Cassie. I am a person in long term recovery.
I believe everyone has a voice that deserves to be heard. I am passionate about helping people and communities in Recovery to connect. Teamwork does really make the dream work from what I have experienced, that is why connection is something I truly believe to be a very powerful resource. I find that when I have asked for help in the past, it has only left me with very positive results.
I am CPRS with my Forensic Endorsement and Cultural Endorsement and have worked with those who have justice involvement and come from different cultures and backgrounds. I have been doing Peer Support for about 3 years and am currently the Community Outreach and Development Coordinator here and Rise Up Recovery going into my second year of Outreach, which is where I have found my niche. I also take pride in connection outside of work and help to moderate a few different Recovery related events pages online.
I come from Coon Rapids, MN and have lived all my life near the cities. I am a mother and a big sister and a daughter and a friend and mentor. I have a very big recovery family and in them I find Support, Peace and Strength.
